University of Central Asia and Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabaev Enhance Academic Cooperation

University of Central Asia (UCA) and Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabaev (KSU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking the beginning of expanded cooperation between the two institutions. The agreement was signed by UCA Rector, Professor Christopher Gerry, and KSU Rector, Professor Aigul Abdraeva.

The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration in areas of mutual interest, with a focus on academic exchange, professional development and collaborative initiatives. During the meeting, the leadership of both universities discussed specific areas for partnership, including:

  • Faculty and Student Development: Initiatives for faculty development, student mobility, and opportunities for KSU students to engage with UCA’s academic programmes.
  • Professional Training: Collaboration through UCA’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) on professional development and English language training.
  • Innovation and IT: Exploring links between UCA’s Innovation Hub and Startup Centre at KSU.
  • Research and Science: Joint efforts in natural sciences, tourism, and climate-related topics.
  • Academic Exchange: Provisions for visiting lectures, joint publications, and short-term study programmes.

The agreement also includes the organisation of joint academic events, such as conferences, hackathons, and workshops. By signing this MoU, both UCA and KSU commit to strengthening academic collaboration and expanding opportunities for students and faculty development in Kyrgyzstan.
