Global Mountain Dialogue for Sustainable Development

UCA will contribute to a major International Conference – ‘ The Global Dialogue’ – organised by the Government of Kyrgyzstan and other international organisations with the aim of integrating the mountain agenda into environmental conventions, international climate negotiations and the sustainable development narrative. This major event represents a significant landmark in the build up to the 2^nd Bishkek Global Mountain Summit in 2027.

Topics covered include: the impact of climate change on mountain ecosystems and their inhabitants, the role of mountains in ensuring global water, food and energy security, strategies for adaptation to climate change and prevention of ecosystem degradation, strengthening scientific research and monitoring of glaciers and water resources, and financial and technical support for sustainable development of mountain regions.
