Dr Amrisho Lashkariev is an Assistant Professor at the University of Central Asia, specialising in history and anthropology. He holds a PhD in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Tübingen, Germany, and a Kandidat of Historical Sciences degree from the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology, Russian Academy of Sciences. His research focuses on ethnicity, identity, and ritual practices in Tajikistan and Central Asia, with particular emphasis on boundary construction and cultural performance. He has published widely on these topics, contributing to scholarly discussions on cultural transformation and social cohesion in the region.

Beyond academia, Dr Lashkariev has been actively involved in international research and development initiatives. He previously held teaching and research positions at Aga Khan University and collaborated with Nazarbayev University, as well as international organisations such as UNESCO, Caritas Switzerland, and the Aga Khan Foundation, on projects related to education, social development, and evidence-based research. His work bridges anthropological scholarship and practical applications, offering valuable insights into cultural dynamics and ethnographic research in Central Asia.
