Fostering Professional Development in Education

With an aim to improve student-centered teaching within the University of Central Asia (UCA), the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (UCA CTLT) conducted an online internal five-day Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) for the learning centers of UCA’s School of Professional and Continuing Education across Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

Enhancing teaching skills and improving collaboration among educators, the workshop engaged participants in formulating effective feedback, leading discussions, delivering lessons, developing interactive teaching techniques, and promoting active involvement. The need for enabling regional faculty to adapt to contemporary pedagogical techniques is critical for maintaining the quality of education at UCA.

Providing feedback about the workshop, one of the participants shared that the ISW workshop has been a knowledge booster, igniting the passion for continuous learning and hands-on skills. The participant further added that such workshops are essential to stay updated and evolve as educators.

The workshop was delivered by ISW certified trainers – Mariia Guzikova (Director of UCA CTLT), and Chynara Turatbek (Instructional Designer of UCA CTLT).
