Bilim Run Naryn 2026 Brings Community Together to Celebrate Education and Community Spirit
The University of Central Asia (UCA), in partnership with the Naryn Governorate and other partners stakeholders, organised a major cultural community event, including the Bilim Run Naryn 2026 — its first-ever Community Run — bringing people together in a vibrant celebration of education, health and civic engagement. Beyond the run, Bilim Run Naryn 2026 featured a lively community programme, including a fair showcasing local businesses, as well as a live concert, creating a festive and inclusive atmosphere for participants and their families. The event gathered over 350 people, including the Governor and Deputy Governor of Naryn Oblast and the Mayor of Naryn Town, among other government officials, students, faculty, and staff of UCA and local educational institutions.
The 3-kilometre run welcomed 200 participants (44% women), including from outside of Naryn (Bishkek, Osh, Batken, and Issyk-Kul regions). An inclusive category for participants with disabilities ensured equal opportunity for all, underscoring UCA’s commitment to accessibility and inclusion.
“We are glad to support Bilim Run Naryn 2026, an initiative that is closely aligned with our national priorities to promote a healthy lifestyle, encourage sport, and invest in the well-being of our communities,” highlighted Nurbek Satarov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in Naryn Region.
The Bilim Run Naryn also aimed at raising awareness of UCA’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE), which continues to expand access to learning opportunities, having reached over 53,000 learners across the Kyrgyz Republic, including in remote and underserved regions. SPCE offers flexible, short-term and modular programmes in areas such as information technology, business, languages, public administration and professional skills — helping individuals enhance their employability and entrepreneurial skills and contribute to local development.
“Bilim Run reflects the spirit of unity and shared responsibility that defines our mission at UCA. We are proud to see the Naryn authorities, community and our partners come together to support education and invest in the future of the region,” said Professor Christopher J. Gerry, UCA Rector.
The event was organised in collaboration with the Naryn Regional Administration, Naryn City Administration, Naryn Regional Sports Department, UN Women, the International Snow Leopard Trust, Narvard Public Foundation, Naryn Labor Union, MegaCom, Beeline, media partners Limonkg and Rocket Group, demonstrating the strength of partnership in advancing education, inclusion and community development.
