Dr Kanat Tilekeyev is an Associate Director and a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Public Policy and Administration, where he is engaged in research and capacity-building activities in agriculture and rural development, gender and employment, sustainable development and resilience in Central Asia and outside of the region. Prior to joining UCA, Tilekeyev worked as an economist in development projects and private sector (oil, food, agriculture and business consulting. He holds PhD in Economics from University of Giessen, Germany in 2012. His doctoral research defined and empirically validated the main determinants of rural poverty in Kyrgyzstan and provided recommendations for growth in agriculture.
