UCA Establishes a Continuing Education Centre in Osh, Kyrgyzstan
The University of Central Asia’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) has established a Continuing Education Centre in Osh, Kyrgyzstan. The Centre will offer a wide range of internationally certified courses in languages, and technology, including computer literacy, programming, and accounting.
The opening ceremony was attended Attokurov Kursant, Vice-Rector of the Osh State University (OSU) and Prof. Christopher Gerry, Acting Rector of UCA. Housed by OSU, the Centre is the third such facility established and operated by SPCE in Kyrgyzstan and the 17th across UCA’s Founding States (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan) and Afghanistan. The ceremony was enlivened with traditional musical and dance performances as well as a fashion show presented by students of SPCE’s Access Microscholarship Programme.
"UCA’s Continuing Education Centre at OSU will foster productive cooperation between our institutions through jointly organising various academic and research events and projects. The Centre will benefit the community of Osh city and the southern region of Kyrgyzstan by providing opportunities for skills development and income generation," - noted Dr Kursantbek Attakurov, Vice-Rector of OSU.
