Dr. Ramazan Ahmadi is a Non-Resident Research Fellow at the Afghanistan Research Initiative.

He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Bamyan University, Afghanistan. He holds a PhD in sociology from Akdeniz University, Turkey, and a master’s in economic sociology from Al-Farabi University, Almaty, Kazakhstan. His current research is on “An Economic and Sociological Examination of Opportunities, Challenges, and Agricultural Development Policies in Bamyan Province," which is based on a survey and uses economic sociology insights to understand the social, cultural, economic, and government policy factors that frame farmers' decisions.
