Dastanbui Mamadsaidov is currently the Senior Project Manager for the University Town Development division for Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan at the University of Central Asia (UCA). In this role, he is leading efforts to transform the towns of Khorog, Naryn, and Tekeli into vibrant university-centred communities by developing strategic policies, coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives, and implementing infrastructure and community-focused projects. His work focuses on fostering collaboration between UCA, government institutions, AKDN agencies, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable urban development and enhance the quality of life in these university towns.
Dastanbui also serves as the Programme Coordinator for the Mountain University Partnerships, supporting mountain universities in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Northern Pakistan, and Northern Afghanistan. He is actively involved in strengthening regional collaboration, advancing educational opportunities, and building institutional capacities for mountain-focused research and development.
In his executive roles at Pamir Energy Company, Dastanbui was instrumental in introducing innovations, best practices, and innovative financing to successfully implement several hydropower projects that served as catalysts for economic development in Tajikistan. His cross-border activities deepened regional frameworks and relations governing energy transmission into neighbouring Afghanistan, and included fundraising efforts and cultivating community buy-in.
Prior to these roles, Dastanbui worked on external outreach at UCA, increasing awareness and participation in continuing education programmes focused on skill development. He also served as a coordinator for the English Programme Center at Khujand State University.
Dastanbui holds an Executive MBA from Steinbeis University of Berlin, complementing his graduate studies in political sciences (MA) from the OSCE Academy in Bishkek. His undergraduate degrees include a degree in economics from Khorog State University and a diploma in English studies from Khujand State University. Dastanbui has also undergone management training in Japan, South Asia, Europe, the USA, UAE, and Turkey.
