Empowering Afghan Women Through Education
UCA's School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) recently hosted a graduation ceremony to celebrate the remarkable achievements of 14 Afghan students who successfully completed a one-year educational programme offered by SPCE. This comprehensive course included English language training as well as Technical and Vocational Education and Training in IT programmes. This initiative was made possible through the generous support from the European Commission and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as part of the “Economic Empowerment of Afghan Women Through Education and Training” project.
The graduation ceremony of SPCE Bishkek saw the presence of Rasul Abazbek uulu, Deputy Minister of Science and Education of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Marilyn Josefson, Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Kyrgyz Republic, Ms Monica Rijal, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative, Altaaf Hasham, Management and Programme Liaison Officer, Diplomatic Representation of the Aga Khan Development Network in the Kyrgyz Republic, and Davlatsulton Dorgabekova, CEO of Aga Khan Foundation Kyrgyzstan.
The guests lauded the tireless efforts and remarkable academic progress demonstrated by the Afghan women throughout their educational journey. They extended their heartfelt congratulations and offered their sincere wishes for the students' success and prosperity in their future endeavours.
