Neil Bailey
Director
Neil Bailey is Director of UCA’s Office of Research and Development, working across the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. This includes working directly with the principal multilateral and bilateral funding agencies (World Bank, USAID, etc.) to promote UCA’s capacity building activities in Central Asia, as well with supporting access to external research funding through facilitating academic collaboration and partnership. Prior to joining UCA, he worked for the Aga Khan University (East Africa), where he was responsible for resource mobilization and partnerships in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. He also previously worked with the Institution of Civil Engineers in London, and with the Commonwealth Engineers’ Council, to promote capacity building and professional development across the Commonwealth. Neil holds a master’s degree in Social Anthropology of Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London, and a BA (Hons) from the University of Nottingham.
